Product History
I develop custom business software by trade and I've been doing that for over 25
years. Last year I realized that a spreadsheet was not getting the job done when
it comes to tracking all my usernames and passwords. It did ok, but it was not
secure and it was getting to time consuming searching for the account I needed.
So, I develop this application to help me manage and track not only my usernames and
passwords, but also for some of my clients that I've installed and manage
networks and servers for. So, the multiple user accounts idea allows me to setup
my accounts, and my clients accounts within the same system, yet keeping them
separated by user accounts. Each user account requires a login, you only see
that user accounts username and password accounts.
There are no limitation to how many user accounts I can setup or how many username and
password accounts that can be setup within each user account. The application is
also setup to allow a Master Username account and then setup Username and
Password accounts within the Sub-Accounts of each Master. It's designed like a
two level catalog, Master and Sub.
For example: Setup Go Daddy as a Master, then setup each username and password account
associated with Go Daddy under that Master as sub-accounts. When I startup
ProUserNames I can search on Go Daddy and easily see all the usernames and
passwords for that account.
Encryption
My goal was to develop a database application to track and manage usernames and
passwords that would be more secure than using spreadsheets. So both Username
and Password for all accounts are encrypted with a high level encryption
technique for storage within the database. This of course includes the main User
Accounts passwords. The problem is, one could access this database outside this
application with the knowledge and experience of working with databases.
Therefore, EasyBee Software does not warrant or guarantee that the encryption
technique used in this software will keep sensitive data safe or secure from any
outside source. The encryption technique used in this Software is created and
designed to simply make it harder for an outside source to view sensitive data
such as usernames and passwords. Then how secure is it? It's solid, I just don't
have the resources to guarantee it.
Installation
ProUserNames is easy to install and get started, it will install all the
software support files required including .NET 3.5 (if needed), Microsoft Report
Viewer and Power Packs. It's also easy to un-install if you don't like. It's
truly an Easy-To-Use Stand Alone Windows Desktop Application that will help
anyone from home users to corporate IT network managers track and manage
usernames and passwords.
